Creating educational experiences for others is central to my life’s work. Whether it’s young or mature adults; small or large groups; faith-based or professional organizations; online or n-person: teaching is a joy and sharing in the transformation of others is a gift.

My recent in-person and online classes, workshops, and presentations include:

  • Finding Your Vocation, Seattle Pacific University, Quarterly 2022-23 - instructor

A weekly seminar course for students ages 18-23 years who are interested in exploring questions of personal growth and call in the world. Students discuss a variety of readings, learn reflective writing, practice tools of discernment for daily life and future.

  • The Power of Yet, Seattle Pacific University, Fall 2022 - instructor

A discussion-based, seminar course designed for first-year students, helping to ease the transition to the college setting, academic expectations, developing a sense of identity and belonging to a new community.

  • Creative Image, Reflective Word, Grunewald Guild, Summer 2022 - summer faculty

A 5-day, retreat-like course. Students take time to respond to daily themes using reflective writing and creative expression. A method fr writing and basic techniques for artistic exploration are taught, including drawing, painting, collage, found objects, and mandala.

  • Contemplative Creativity II - Art of Discernment, The Episcopal Diocese, Spring 2022 - facilitator

A 3-part series introducing spiritual decision-making. Two discernment tools are introduced that incorporate visualization and imagination. A final session teaches the skills for helping others with discernment.

  • Contemplative Creativity I - Way of Being, The Episcopal Diocese, Winter 2022 - facilitator

An introduction to three foundational practices: creative expression, reflective writing, listening and speaking in-depth. Basic art media are introduced, including painting with color, collage, and mandala.

  • Immersions in Ignatian Prayer Series, Ignatian Spirituality Center, October 2021 - presenter

A presentation on the prayer form of using imagination with prayer, followed by a guided meditation, closing with the reflection on the experience in a group conversation.
